I must have lost my mind!

Like I need to learn to do something else? My neighbor and her sister took me to the Quilting store last night. Yes, I am going to attempt to learn to quilt! (Or at least to make the squares/blocks. I picked up this book to help me out, and here is my first 'kit' to make up! I picked out the 'scrappy' colors.

Now, to make a run to Joanns for a rotary cutter, and cutting board. (They tell me I need those!)

Off to do housework.... Maybe I can find some stitching time in there! I've put aside QG to get my exchanges all stitched up!

Thanks for all your comments, and for all who read my ramblings...

The rotary cutters and mats are great for alot of things. I use them for my finishing as well. Good luck with the quilting. If you like it check out Country Stitches on Coolige, East Lansing if you haven't already. Tons of fun fabrics... oh and there's a nice little one in Howell that does specialty fabrics as well... not that I've traveled the state looking for fabric or anything LOL

Kali's comment makes me laugh! What a hoot.

Enjoy your "scrappy" colors. Nice pattern. Should make a nice quilt block. How many blocks do you need for the quilt? If you have lots of scraps on hand, it should be a fun adventure.

Housework is so boring. I want a house that cleans itself LOL

I have a big bin of fabrics I've collected from the time I started sewing as a teenager. I'm making a tshirt quilt for my niece and she is stoked because she'll have 'vintage' (LOL) fabric in it. Quilting can be a lot of fun. Good luck with your new craft!

You'll be very happy you bought the mat and rotary cutter! They're a great item to use your JoAnn's coupons for. Have fun quilting! :D

I am also thinking of quilting... A friend of mine spends one afternoon a week in a club and she really insists on my joining her. Well...

Enjoy your journey into quilting! I am not a quilter (I don't enjoy the geometry of it) but I adore fabric and just bought my first rotary cutter and mat a few days ago. I think they'll be great for my small projects.
