SAL Picture

I had to catch up to Jenn on the Rose Mosaic Needleroll by M Designs, so, here is my update picture:
Jenn has her status picture up on her blog, too!

(My coffee cup from the LNS is in the upper corner! Did I put it that close to my stitching!!)

DH wants to go into the Golf Show today at the convention center... I will have to see if the feet are up to it!

Thanks for reading and all your nice comments...

Quaker Sampler

While playing on the computer, I noticed part 2 of the Quaker Sampler is up! I've printed mine out, and will get to it soon! What a fun project...

Stitching on today: Ladybugs and Bumblebees

Should be stitchin'

But, no.... I'm playing on the computer, reading blogs, posting comments...

I'm going to pull out an M Designs needleroll to stitch on. (like I don't have enough projects going.) Jenn is stitching on this one, and as she had sent me the chart also, I said I would like to do a SAL with her. :-) She is going to pick up the Mill Hill things for it, and bring them to me at camp. What a sweetie!

I want to thank you all for putting my blog site on your blogs. I tend to click on the 'blogs I read' on others sites to read blogs I don't know about, and what a surprise to find mine listed! (I think that makes sense.) So, Thank You!

And thanks for commenting... makes my day!

Off to the rocker and footstool... :-(

I've Escaped!

Not really, but, did any of you wonder if I was MIA? It seems like I haven't posted in forever! Life was getting hectic for a few days. Back to semi-normal now. Had my other toe done this morning, so, I will be in my stitching nest for the weekend. I kitted up three projects yesterday, and brought them downstairs to the 'nest'. I let DH pick out the first one to stitch, and he picked "Ladybugs and Bumblebees" by Country Cottage Needleworks. Not much progress last night... but, a little:

And, here are a few of the other things I have stitched up (sorry about the bad pictures):

"Coeur Romantique" (freebie) by Reflets de Soie (enabled by Von) on 18ct. white Aida with Olde Willow Red Rock fibers.

"Beginner Whitework Ornament" (freebie) by TWDesignworks (enabled by Lili) on 28ct. Miracle Mint Lugana with Olde Willow Spring Blossoms fiber, and MH beads #00525. This was fun to stitch...

"March Stamp Flip-it" by Lizzie Kate on 28ct. Bone Lugana with DMC fibers, and three tiny yellow buttons.

"Shamrock Kitty" by Calico Crossroads on 14ct. white Aida with DMC fibers. Aren't these adorable?!

And... Lelia and Nancy -- the Shamrock square up in the corner... It was a kit called 'Hearts In Clover', one of my LNS's monthly Stitchin' Fix Kits. It is stitched on 10 ct. Bone Tula. I finished it as a 'box' type thing.

Yikes! It's snowing again!! I thought spring might be on it's way!

I best get off now before DH comes home and finds me playing on the computer and not sitting with my foot up! I'll plan to read blogs either later or tomorrow and see what you all have been up to! Thanks for reading, and thanks for your comments. They make my day!

Looking at Market Stuff...

That was my first mistake... to look at what my LNS had listed for her Market Saturday. I was good, and only kept my "oh, I want that!" to just a few.

The first one was a job of enabling, as she knew I wouldn't resist this one!

Seasons by Val's Stitching Stuff

Flowers from the Meadow by Cedar Hill

Quakers Rule Accoutrements by Milady's Needle

So... I'm thinking I'll place the order for Seasons this morning, and put the other two on my Wish list...

There were some pretty things, but, I am trying to be so good and stitch up some of the stash I have.

SBQ - 02/15/2006

Today's SBQ was suggested by Heather and is:

Comment on your comments (giving and recieving): Do you love comments or hate them? Do you check them every day, never check them, or find them helpful? And finally, are you convinced no one is reading your blog if you don't get any?

I enjoy getting comments, and I will try to leave a comment on most of the blogs I read. It's about the only way I know anyone is reading my ramblings. I check them every day, and find them very helpful. Sometimes they will lead me to other interesting blogs to read. I have met some very nice people thru their leaving comments...

I sometimes think no one reads my blog, but, that's okay too... Sometimes I'm not very interesting or creative. :-)

Goodies from DH

Just wanted to share what DH got me for Valentine's Day:

And, my poor family... Since Tuesday afternoon, I have been having a bout of some kind of intestinal thing. Hope this goes away soon!

Happy Belated Valentine's Day everyone!

Weekend Stitching

Hi all... Did I mention how I enjoy having your blogs to read? And someone else shares my interests? Well... If I didn't, please know that I do! And I thank you for leaving comments!

I went and had the big Bozo bandage removed. Doctor says it looks good, and will probably do the other one next week! Yikes! Well, I am enjoying the extra stitching time, and being lazy - - - but, Owie!! I never even got out any Valentine's stuff!!

On to stitching stuff! I finished up part one of the Quaker Sampler on Sunday. I'm stitching on 28ct. Antique Ivory Vintage Linen with DMC #930. (I think that's my favorite color.)

I also put in some time yesterday and today on "Blessings be Thine" by Blackbird Designs.

I now have to decide if I want to work on the kit that Chuck got me last week,

the Whitework Freebie, or the pretty heart freebie that I noticed on Von's blog. You all are enabling me!

(Dang... seems like they don't want me to add pictures! I'll try again later.)

***Edit 02-14-06

Was finally able to add the pictures!

I decided to go with the heart freebie. I pulled some 18ct white aida, (the only white I could find! -- I need to find that tub of missing fabric!), and an Olde Willow fiber called Red Rock. (I received the Desert Series - Limited Editions from my sister for Christmas!) so far it's been fun to watch the roses take shape.

SBQ - 02/08/2006

Describe your “perfect” project. (Include the designer or specific pattern, the fabric, the floss, and anything else that would make that project “perfect” for you.)

This is a hard one. I guess that's why I've been thinking about it for a few days.

Most of the time the "perfect" project is the one I am stitching on at the moment. If I had to *pick* a project, it would have an alphabet, be a band sampler, with elements of specialty stitches, (think Just Nan, Earth Threads, Drawn Thread) and be in subtle, muted colors. It would be stitched on a 28ct linen. The floss would probably be DMC, as that is what I am used to, or maybe overdyed, for the subtle changes.

I stitch so many varied designs. I think that is part of the fun of this hobby... there is such a diversity of design styles, that it is never boring!

Pictures!!!

I have figured it out myself.... Now to see if I can post the pictures.

Here is the Irish Blessing, by Ladybug Lane Designs:

These are pictures of my Stitching Notebook...

the cover; the 'what size' page; design sheet; finished design sheet.

And now for your giggling pleasure... my stitching chair, and my Bozo toe...

Hoppy Dance and Camera Frustrations!

I am doing a Hoppy Dance (have to do it on one foot, therefore Hoppy!) for finishing my Irish Blessings by Ladybug Lane Designs! It turned out very nice.... But, where is the picture you ask? Still in the camera! For some reason it doesn't want to communicate with the computer today. :::sigh::: I also took some pictures of my Stitching Notebook I use, to show everyone, and my foot with the Bozo toe! I'll have to have my son over this weekend to figure out the camera thingee.

So... did I pull out something that is already started??? NO! I had printed off the first part of the
Quaker Sampler, that KarenV was able to enable me on. We decided if I had the fabric and the floss... and the pattern was a freebie... that it was okay, and didn't effect my effort to not add to the stash! So, I've been stitching on that. I chose a 28ct. Antique Ivory Vintage Linen, stitched with DMC 930. Here at this link, you can see the different variations that stitchers are using.

I also printed out the
Beginning Whitework Ornament from TW Designworks, encouraged by Lili. Now, I have to pick a color of fabric to try it out on...

Chuck took me out for the Fish Fry tonight. I wonder how long I can drag out this not cooking....

I'm off to stitch... Thanks everyone for commenting!

Looking around...

I really should be doing something constructive, but, I've been playing on the 'puter, and looking around, and have created a Stitching Wishes list.

:::sigh:::

The link is on the right side bar... if you want to see if I could enable any of you!

I don't need more stash... why do they keep coming out with nifty, neato stuff?? And some of the blogs are to blame!

Guess I'll be a good girl now, and go sit with the foot up and stitch. :-)

Project question

I was reading blogs the other day, and someone mentioned a 'treat bag' for an exchange they were doing. Could someone tell me what that is? My mind pictures like a 'mini tote bag', that you fill with goodies. Is that close?

Thanks for reading, and thanks for all the nice comments...

SBQ - 02/01/2006

With the exception of your online stitching friends, do you have any other stitching buddies?

I guess my sister, Ree, would be my stitching buddy, and she isn't even that close. I don't have any near by. A group of online stitching friends have become stitching buddies, as we meet every year at Camp Stitch-A-Lot! They have become very good friends, and we chat about all sorts of things, beyond stitching! It would be nice to get together with other stitchers, but, I think I live in a deprived stitching area. I do have a lot of online stitching friends. They tend to keep me motivated.
