Wednesday ramblings...

Chuck is driving me bug-crazy!!! I needed two colors of floss... don't know how, as I *thought* I had all the DMC!! (I'm sure they are in a project, somewhere!) Anyway, he says, "I'll drive you". :::sigh::: I know, I am glad he is okay, but, geez.... I would like a little alone time!

I got my packet for camp today!!! WOO HOO!!! Camp Stitch-A-Lot Now, I want to stop what I am stitching and start working on my camp kit! I have some nifty ideas for this year. But, I will be good, and at least put in a full week on Catch the Wind, before working on the camp kit (even tho it wouldn't take too long...). Camp is not until March 17th, but, Ree and I go on a Thursday, and don't come home until Monday! We need this time with the girls!

Catch the Wind -- I have more stitched now, but, don't feel like taking a picture today... It will look better in a few more days. I don't think it will be too much of a stretch to have this done by April. That's my target date, so I can have it framed, and ready by Mother's Day. Myrna, the redhead, is done except for the face, sleeves, and dress ruffle. I am going to start on Ann Marie, the blond, next, and will save Ellen for last! Ha Ha Ha!

WIP picture...

First, thank you all for your comments!! That must mean you are reading my ramblings... I am going to put you on the 'blogs I read' side, so I don't have to try to remember how to get to your blogs.

I've been stitching on 'Catch the Wind' by Butternut Road since Saturday night. I think I'm making good progress! I put a self imposed date to finish this by April, so hopefully can get it framed for Mother's Day in May.

Here's the picture...

Mid-week ramblings...

Been a few days since I've posted -- Same old stuff here.

I've been sitting on the couch stitching in the evenings. I made some progress on the Pink sampler, but, have put that up for awhile. (too much pink). So.... what do I get out, but, the February Stamp from Lizzie Kate. Yuppers! It's pink! That's done, so, I'm working a few projects that I've been asked to stitch. Can't post pictures of those... not, for a while yet, anyway.

I did receive my new Catch the Wind chart by Butternut Road in the mail yesterday, along with fabric that Deb (the shop owner) and I decided would be cool to stitch it on. It is 28ct. Hand Dyed Jobelan in Summer Sky. (I'm still trying to decide if I want to 'paint' grass on the fabric... will have to see how the stitching goes.) The girls will be named Ann Marie (blond), Myrna (redhead), and Ellen (brunette). Seems appropriate for my sisters and me!

Off to stitch for a bit more... will get new pictures posted soon.

SBQ - 01/18/2006

Have you had a happy dance yet this year? If so, tell us about it! (Or just
point to the entry that talks about it.) If not, when do you predict it will be?

I have had a couple finishes so far this year! WooHoo! I stitched the Silkweaver Needle Roll chart that came in my Monthly Stash Package, and I finished Little House Needleworks "Americana Sampling", and Lizzie Kate "January Stamp"! I have finished a couple more things, and need to post pictures of those also. I hope this year keeps up like it's starting off!

A little finish and an old UFO....

I didn't really do much other than lay on the couch when I got home from work yesterday. It's impratical that headaches should cut into my stitching time! Anyway... I did get a little stitching done the last couple of days. I was on the search for the fabric I had purchased for the Lizzie Kate Stamp-it's Monthly series. No such luck! It is nowhere to be found -- (probably right in front of me!). I pulled another piece of fabric, a 28ct. sand Quaker that worked out pretty nice. This is supposed to be framed (as all the monthly's are), in my weekly calendar holder that my brother-in-law, Tim, made me. Someday I will get to that point! I have some fabric picked out for the February Stamp, so I can get to that hopefully before the end of January.

The next thing is an old UFO! This is the "Provence Sampler" by Butternut Road. I can't even remember when I started this, but, it had to be about 1999-2000 ish. I don't know what I was thinking -- as I do remember this was the first thing I started on 32 ct. Maybe it will seem easier now. (Horrible picture -- it's on Ant. White Jobelan with NN #157 overdyed floss.) Off to stitch....

Finished!

I finished Little House Needleworks 'Americana Sampling' this afternoon!

I'm still looking for my fabric to start the next project...

Pink Surprise!

I received a package in the mail from Dutch Treat Designs. Now, I wonder whatever is Claudia sending me...

This past summer, I was part of the group that helped to stitch the 'Pink' Afghan, and was pleased to be included.

Inside the package was a chart for each of the Pink Designs!! I am overwhelmed! Also included is a swatch of fabric to stitch the needle swatch!

These charts are beautiful. I know they will be put in the 'to-d0' pile at some point!

Tuesday morning ramblings....

Got up, and was going to stitch and hopefully finish the LHN Americana Sampling... Chuck is sleeping on the couch. :(
Decide I will go look for the fabric for the monthly LK Flip-it's I purchased last year... No such luck. I could go with something else, but, I got those just to do these on! Grrrrr....
I'll go play in the stash some more, and hopefully the fabbie will appear! I am also missing three months of the charts -- they are probably with the fabric! This is what happens when you take four stash piles into one room and don't organize! (And it's not all in there yet!)

Cat's helping to stitch...

I've been stitching off and on all day, and had one or two cats walking over me! It's feeding time here, so, maybe no specialty fibers will be added!

The Sun is Shining!

I can't remember the last time the sun was shining! Sure makes a difference in the day!

I stitched last night on the LHN Americana Sampling. It's coming along really well. I'll probably stitch on that later today also.

Also... I was looking for some 32ct. Mushroom Lugana in my fabric stash. Of course I did not have any (that I could find). So... I came up with another ingenious idea! I put the leftover coffee from the morning in a pan on the stove and brought it to a boil. I then added 32ct. Ivory Lugana and stirred it up. Let it steep for about five minutes, and placed it under running cold water. Rinsed it until it ran clear, and let dry. It turned out perfect! Just the beigy/tan color I was looking for!

Oh... and here is a question -- The classes have been posted for Camp Stitch-A-Lot. I'm torn about what to take, or to even take any classes. If Chuck goes back to work soon it shouldn't be a problem, but, if not.... Any opinions? http://www.stitchesnthings.com/CampStitchalot.html

I need to locate the fabric I purchased for Catch the Wind. It looks like clouds, if I remember right...

Off to play --
